I am not usually one for looking backwards. In fact, despite being the "comically cynic one" amongst all my friends, I do tend to carry my glass half full (of coconut water) at all times.
As we move onwards and hopefully upwards through 2014, our fondest and most nearest memories of 2013 should be firmly in our minds and close to our hearts. For although it is the future that we look forward to, it is the past that shapes, drives and warms us.
I have put together a list of my 13 greatest memories of 2013, in the hope that I can hold on to these memories forever.
1. Enjoying a snowy January in the picturesque garden of my old Islington flat.
2. Treating my other half to a delicious meal amongst the stars at Sushi Samba.
3. Soaking in the hustle and bustle, vibrant culture and beautiful landscapes on a girly holiday to Marrakech.
4. Finally finding true love.
5. Discovering "probably the best crime drama in the world" - the suspense, the scenery, the KNITWEAR.
6. Leaping onto the property ladder with a beautiful flat in NW6
7. The honour of attending the beautiful wedding of one of my most treasured friends. And perhaps not one of my finest moments - sobbing my way through the reading I gave during the ceremony.
8. A whirlwind of a trip to one of Europe's effortlessly beautiful cities, Berlin.
9. A spur of the moment purchase at the local pet shop - one of the best decisions I have ever made.
10. Qualifying as a Solicitor, with all the hard work of the last two years finally paying off!
11. Sleeping rough on the streets of London to raise money for the homeless charity, Centrepoint.
12. Being moved by the sweet orchestral accompaniment to the Royal Albert Hall's Christmas screening of The Artist.
and last but not least...
13. Plucking up the courage to start...
