London Eyed: April 2014

April 1st marks the day that I ceremoniously pack the wooliest of my jumpers and the thickest of my coats away for yet another year. This year I went a bit cuckoo for coats so I currently have boxes under my bed, swarming with furry hoods and tie belts.

Visit | If you have not been to Holland Park, then you really have not lived.  Forget Richmond Park, where the dogs are better dressed than the people or Hyde Park, full of testosterone fuelled teenagers flexing their muscles. Holland Park has it all. The artistically crafted fountains, the divinely created flower gardens, the never-ending fields and the other worldly forests. The best thing about Holland Park however is that it is out of the way for tourists and Londoners alike. So you can catch those few and far between rays without so much as a dog barking.

Food | Sticking to the West London theme, as of late I've been digging Daylesford Organic cafe in Westbourne Park so much that it's fast becoming a Saturday morning ritual. Saying that though, we've never managed to get a table there so good luck trying. Your best bet is raiding the cafe and deli section, to-go and head straight to Holland Park for a picnic.

See | Following a sellout tour at the Hampstead Theatre, Good People is deservedly transferring to the West End at the Noel Coward Theatre. If you didn't catch it the first time, the mark my words you've been offered redemption. Lindsay-Abaire's play is about the relationship between social class and economic circumstance, what people are prepared to do for money and how power people hold when they have money. Thought provoking, impeccably acted and at times, despite the theme, witty too.

Stay - Do you have friends coming to London and cannot face hosting them for the fifth time this year? Or do you simply fancy a night away from home chores? The Generator is a super-hostel chain, which has just arrived in London. Thanks to none other than Beyonce's PR company, this ex police section house has been revamped and restyled to create a second home for the fun loving and edgy individual with more lash than cash.

Buy - Eating healthy is not only good for you but it's also fashionable too. So much so that health freaks are actually seeing healthy eating as a commercial enterprise. Its the beginning of the end for the Maccy D's and the KFCs of the world. Ella of Deliciously Ella is super hot right now. She's beautiful, inspiring and best of all she knows how to making brussel sprouts edible! Check out her I phone app here

Now for a little taster of what Holland Park has to offer (boy not included - he's mine) ....
