Travelling is one of life's true pleasures.
It is the prospect of escaping from the humdrum of normality and routine to discover an unknown place with it's own colourful history, culture and people. Travelling feeds one's curiosity and drives one's sanity.
I am known amongst family, friends and colleagues for being an avid traveller, breaking up the otherwise monotony of my life with enough getaways to rival an air hostess. Therefore, one of the hardest sacrifices I had to make since buying a puppy (apart from sleep of course), was to forgo my love of travelling for my love of a strawberry blond, fox-faced pomeranian.
The boy and I have agreed on an annual allowance of one big holiday together minus the pup (FYI we have a waiting list for puppy sitting), one holiday without each other and one city break via pet permitting routes, but that still left up to three travel voids to fill. So in order to pay homage to what is literally on our doorsteps, we have decided to fuel our nomadic souls with the clean air, idyllic landscapes and quaint charms of the British countryside.
