* The Temporarily Unemployed
Last Tuesday marked the day that I skipped/strutted/shimmied gleefully out of the shiny glass doors of my former office, with each step taking me further and further away from my "glamorous" career as a city lawyer. [That was the polite version].
With an exciting new career in communications awaiting in the new year, what I am most looking forward to over the next six weeks, aside for the arrival of a furry new family member [more on this later], is ditching the generic work wardrobe for something more comfortable, idiosyncratic and more...well, me.
I've had my eye [getit?] on the Kenzo eye sweater pictured above for a while now but I just could not justify the hefty price tag - especially considering there is no chance that it would fall under law firm "business casual". However, now that I am a fully fledged lady of leisure/serial puppy walker/member of London's temporarily unemployed, I find myself overtly in support of the "sweatshirt as daywear not just as gym wear" trend.
The sweatshirt is a versatile young thing. It can be dressed down for an early morning dog walk with ripped skinnies, ankle boots and a fleece lined parka or dressed to impress with leather, a trench coat and your finest bling. Here's some of my favs, so you too can make your Sunday morning scurry to Sainsburys local for hangover carbs, ever so effortlessly stylish.
